Elmira Jr. AVIATORS Launch AAA Youth Program for 2025/2026 Season
Elmira, NY – October 17, 2024 – The Elmira Jr. Aviators are excited to announce the launch of a brand-new AAA youth hockey program, debuting in the 2025/2026 season. The application for this program has been officially filed under the USA Hockey umbrella, bringing a new level of competition and development to the Elmira region.
“We are excited to bring this level of hockey to our community,” said Raymond Welsh, a representative for the Elmira Jr. Aviators. “The AAA youth program will provide local U16 and U18 players with an elite platform to develop their skills and compete at the highest levels within the USA Hockey system. This initiative reflects our commitment to growing the game and nurturing young talent right here in Elmira.”
In addition to the AAA team, the Elmira Jr. Aviators will establish development teams for players of all skill levels, including those new to the sport. These teams will create a structured environment for players to learn hockey fundamentals, enhance their skills, and enjoy the game in a supportive atmosphere.
The AAA program will maintain a close affiliation with the Elmira Aviators NAHL team, creating a direct pathway for youth players aspiring to advance to junior hockey and beyond.
Local community members Marc Stemerman, Raymond Welsh, and Michael Oshetski will manage the program, bringing years of experience and a shared passion for youth development. Their leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the program thrives and becomes a cornerstone of the local hockey community.
