What is a Billet?
A billet family is a family that houses a junior or collegiate hockey player in their home, providing meals, a place to study, and a supportive environment. The term is used in hockey, but the experience can be rewarding for billet families regardless of their hockey knowledge.
Who can be a Billet Family?
Billet families can be two-parent, single-parent, or empty-nester households. They often take in players from out of state or internationally, who may be away from home for the first time. Players typically arrive in mid-August and stay until the end of the season, which is usually in May.
Application Process
Below is the initial application (which does not commit you at this time). Billet families must pass a criminal background check (per league rules) and a home site inspection. There is an additional questionnaire that will be filled out by both the families and the players to try and pair everyone with the best fit for their individual needs.
